I delivered my Stand Out Candidate lecture for the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus's Marketing Group in Q1 2026

Spring career strategy talks are in demand for 2026! Here’s a round-up of where I’ve been and where you can catch me in the months ahead.

Talking LinkedIn Best Practices with CPRS Edmonton, Ottawa, and Vancouver Island

Tammy Vineberg reached out on behalf of Edmonton’s chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society and invited me to talk about LinkedIn best practices.

A past career strategy client via Growclass, Tammy’s attened my talk about green flag practices and strategies for painlessly updating your LinkedIn profile. She thought it would be a good fit for their members.

I joined their Rebrand Room on March 24 to talk LinkedIn profile strategies in the context of their ongoing discussions about mentorship, job searching and networking.

Working with the Edmonton chapter led to a similar opportunity with Tammy’s peers at CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau. On, April 9, I spoke with their members.

CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau virtual meeting featuring Elizabeth Monier-Williams: "Stop listing, Start leading: Develop Your High-Impact LinkedIn Strategy"

For “Stop Listing, Start Leading: Develop Your High-Impact LinkedIn Strategy,” I reviewed the profiles of two members on the call. After covering green-flag strategies for LinkedIn content, we had a lively discussion.

Special thanks to Meg Fraser for sharing her feedback! I’m always happy to know I’ve helped an ambitious professional on their journey, especially for the folks listening in and not in the hot seat.

Meg Fraser's thank you to Elizabeth Monier-Williams for speaking about LInkedIn best practices at CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau's April meeting.
Thanks to Meg Fraser for posting her feedback on the session!

On May 20, I’m joining CPRS Vancouver Island to give a similar talk. I’ll update this page to include more details as we get closer, but the theme is similar.

Become a Stand-Out Job Candidate with U of T Scarborough’s Marketing Group

I delivered my Stand Out Candidate lecture for the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus's Marketing Group in Q1 2026
I delivered my Stand Out Candidate lecture for the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus’s Marketing Group in Q1 2026.

It’s been a real pleasure to get to know the talented students who run the University of Toronto’s (Scarborough campus) Marketing Group. I partnered on their annual gala and gave the keynote, “Marketing Career Tea: 5 Things Leaders Expect New Hires to Know.”

In March, I visited campus to give a longer lecture, “Stand Out: Personal Branding & Marketing Interview Prep.” We covered the dynamics of an interview, what I look for when I’m running a candidate search, and how to present your receipts to prove the scale and scope of work you’ve delivered.

I closed the with my LinkedIn Best Practices section before we opened the Q&A. Working with the Marketing Group in person was a nice change from virtual rooms. After so many years outside of Higher Education, I enjoyed being back on a campus.

Upcoming spring career strategy talk: Toronto’s The Marketing Meet-Up

Lori Stuart leads Toronto’s chapter of The Marketing Meetup. She’s invited me to speak on Wednesday, May 27 to their in-person gathering.

I’ll post more details as they become available.
